2019 Oregon Legislative Session

In 2017, Community Alliance of Tenants helped lead the Stable Homes for Oregon Families Coalition, a coalition of over 75 organizations coming together from all sectors of the economy to fight for stronger renter protections in Oregon. HB2004 was a bill that would have ended no-cause eviction practices and, as originally proposed, could have lifted the ban on Rent-Stabilization. Unfortunately, the bill was ultimately defeat due to the actions of a small few who refused to protect renters.

CAT vowed at that time that we would come back stronger than ever and with a clear message that protecting renters is not an option, it must be a priority.

In the 2019 Oregon Legislative Session, Community Alliance of Tenants Action Fund (CAT AF) will join the Stable Homes for Oregon Families coalition to bring lobbying, political, and electoral support to legislation that will end no cause evictions, and address excessive rent increases.
